Cosmic Egg…without the salt and pepper

2009 October 25 at 02:52 (Music...) (, , , , , , , , , , )

FINALLY did Wolfmother stop fighting with each other like those Oasis pussies and punch out the so long anticipated 2nd album. No more did I have bust nuts, halting my piss midstream.

But what a downer.
Cosmic Egg is so dull.

Wolfmother was a whiff of fresh air when they first came out. Finally, I thought, a band that doesn’t suck. They sounded like the bastard child of Black Sabbath and Zeppelin who grew up in a monastery imitating Jack White and listening to Velvet Revolver on a boom box that had every button smashed except the ‘repeat’ button.

However, that’s it, isn’t it? What magazine, music reviewer, hasn’t compared them to Sabbath and company?
They’re like the first Hamburger Helper I just has a week ago: smelled like dirty gold, with its nuclear orange glow and globs of ground beef floating around in its own nucleoplasm of future clogged artieries and triple bypasses.
The first bite was delicious.
Second bite…good.
Third….I needed to stab the smug looking Helping Hand in the face.

Girls Aloud

2009 October 8 at 04:12 (Music...) (, , , , )

Because SOMEBODY suggested I watch the new St. Trinian’s film, I, unfortunately got into Girls Aloud.
I finally got over Spice Girls after they got old and their crack cocaine lollipops with those fucking stickers that I, for some reason HAD to collect, gave me so many cavities, but another all girls pop band had to come out of the UK. IS THIS YOUR DOING AGAIN SIMON FULLER, YOU BASTARD?
Okay…fine I admit…I liked the movie…Talulah Riley is hot. I’m waiting for the second one…but first…I’ll have to get Girls Aloud out of my head.

Nostalgic Music of the Day: Breakstone’s Cottage Doubles

2009 August 15 at 01:36 (Music...) (, , , )

This song has been stuck in my head for some reason all week. I never liked one twelve. Always felt I was too yellow to listen to R&B, but this song is an exception. When this song and the music video first came out back in ‘01…it didn’t make sense to me. Can you blame me? I was 11 and it came out the same time those Breakstone’s Cottage Doubles with Peaches commercial was on the telly.

They were good, by the way. I still remember how it tastes. Do they still make ‘em anymore? I should look around the next time I go to Stop and Shop.

Ghetto Summer

2009 August 12 at 03:01 (Music...) (, , , , )

I have not listened to so much R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, Gansta Rap, and any other variety of black music within 2 months than I have this summer. Goddam you, Jay. I’m sorry Carla (that’s my car’s name….get it…CAR-la…and it’s also my ________ :X ). I know you’re getting sick of listening to his pathetic bitching. I know…I’m getting sick of listening to Akon’s Beautiful and the other similar songs. Sorry I let him sit on your hood. I think there’s a dent there now. Fucking fat ass. Yeah…I know…he’s tone deaf. Look what you’ve done Jay! You’re getting Carla sick from your second hand smoke. Sorry about that too…I will never let Brian drive you again. Thank you, though, for not killing me on the way to Niagara and back.

Maybe its because summer is slowly almost upon us, but I suddenly felt like listening to Nelly, specially “Country Grammar” & “Ride Wit’ Me”

(sorry bout the censors…this is the only video on youtube that is allowing me to embed)

By the way, what ever happened to the St. Lunatics? I guess the same shit that happened to Dru Hill, D12, Westside Connection, Ruff Ryders and Dipset….wait….what the fuck happened to them too?

Chester French

2009 January 16 at 20:25 (Music...) (, , , , , )

Love Vamprie Weekend but pretty disappointed with their lack of album for almost a year?
Mope not my portly friend.
I’ve just heard about Chester French and pretty into them right now. They’re another duo of Ivy League kids who met and formed and band, with the top heads like Kanye West and Pharrell Williams after their sound. (They went with Pharrell and Star Trak Records.)

They’re a bit to hard categorize with only like 3 songs out right now and all of them having different sounds to them but its a bit of 60’s rock with a bit of techno with a bit of indie pop sound like Vampire Weekend. They’ve yet to release a full album yet, so let’s see.

But this is far as I’ll go in praising them because they look like yuppie douche bags, specially the one named Maxwell Drummey.

Alas…”She Loves Everybody”
